Norton DNS Public Beta Setup for Mac
Check if your computer is using Norton DNS
To quickly determine whether or not your computer is currently using Norton DNS, go to setup.nortondns.com. The image will display a red X if your computer is not properly configured. Otherwise, if your computer is properly configured, a green check mark will be displayed.

Client Installation
To quickly install Norton DNS with the client software:
- Click the Download Mac OSX Client link.
- Open the nortondns-mac-current.dmg file.
- Copy the Norton DNS Beta icon to your Applications Folder
- Run the Application and follow the on-screen instructions

Operating Systems Supported- English Mac OS X 10.5 (Intel) or Later
- Intel Architecture
- 25 MB of available hard disk space
- Must meet minimum operating system requirements for OS X 10.5 or later
- Internet Connection
Manual Installation
To manually change your DNS settings to use Norton DNS:
This is recommended only for advanced users.
- Open System Preferences.
- Click Network.
- Choose your current network adapter, and click Advanced.
- On the DNS tab, enter the two NortonDNS addresses 198.153.192.1 and 198.153.194.1.
To disable or uninstall Norton DNS
If you installed the Norton DNS client,
- Launch the Norton DNS Client
- Click "Tools" from the top Menu
- Click "Uninstall Norton DNS Beta..."
- Drag the Norton DNS Beta icon from your Applications Folder to the Trash
This will revert your DNS settings back to how they were previously.
If you performed a manual installation, follow the same manual instructions above, but on step four, remove the Norton DNS IP addresses (or replace them with your recursive resolver IP addresses).
